My plan is to spend our time in the area of the memorial tree and read & discuss some of the First World War poetry. Sunshine, spiders, Seeger, Johnny Walker, Rupert Brooke, really old trees, and a Rendezvous with Death. Being part of your guided tour we gained the background knowledge and understanding thus gaining a greater appreciation of the places that we visited. You are a truly excellent guide and I would not hesitate to recommend you and your company to my friends – in fact I already have. As always the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate was emotionally charged, but we were all suitably fortified though by that very good English Whisky! Like last year, it was superbly organised and the attention to detail and an almost forensic approach to information gathering, meant that we were able again to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors. The trip was at times very moving and of course thoroughly absorbing and we enjoyed staying also, at The Ariane in Ypres. We enjoyed it from start to finish even though at time I found it so very sad or should one say totally tragic. It was a privilege to be part of a sad but sobering journey and I was most impressed by the sensitivity and respect the tour gave these gallant young men. I have just got back home to Perth and I wish to express my gratitude to you and Chris Wesley on a wonderful Battlefield Tour. Using the many insights provided in lecture, present your argument for a unitary explanation of the prominent treatment that the English class structure receives from any three of our writers of modernism. Everything that has been set up such as meals, hotels etc were top class and Steve and I only heard complementry things been said and I guess that is what you want. Access to maps, copies of war diaries and additional background information further enriched our trip. For those going to and from campus, we will meet in the “L” lot behind the Library — by the overnight book drop — at the start of class, eleven thirty and we will return there by the end of class, twenty-past one. I did find this one passage arresting, resonant with our Forester text: Were Haig and his generals really “donkeys”? So the General Melchett image of Blackadder – of arrogant Generals safe back at headquarters – is unfounded. Our tour was very professionally organised and visits to cemeteries were educational, quiet, moving and respectful. Chris was amazing with his stories and took us into the heart of the battles, it was only left up to your imagination of what our soldiers went through. Thank you and hopefully we will return again next year – this time Jane wants to uncover some more relatives who might have fought in the Great War (though not literally)! It was amazing and very moving to think that we visited that actual places that Will Glasgow and Francis Ninnis were killed and John Glasgow was wounded. If any of you with digital photographs of our trip, would you consider forwarding them to be posted on the blog? Dear David, Firstly, just to say thank you for a well organized and informative trip of the Western Front. I have been back home a few weeks now and gradually coming back down to earth and getting organised with photos etc. It was very fortuitous that their records were both intact and so comprehensive and I know that Tracey and Craig were very pleased to find out so much about their relatives. An interesting video reflection of the battle itself can be found on the BBC as well as a useful study into the origins of WWI. trench coats for women sale jacket and coat sale green trench coat women double breasted trench coat women coat trench womens jackets with hoods cute raincoats for women long trench coat men spy coat womens mac coat ladies raincoat womens rain coat coats online ladies winter capes winter leather coats for women womens leather trench coat womens trench coat sale double breasted coat women fashion trench coat womens winter parka sale mac coat women long womens coats spring trench coat trench raincoat tan trench coat women satin trench coat best rain jackets for women trench coat for sale winter coat for women sale long black trench coat
